MICROCHIPPING YOUR PET:
Implanting a microchip in your pet is a really clever way to provide peace of mind in the (hopefully unlikely) event that your pet is missing. The ability of the microchip to provide information that reunites people with their lost pets is a wonderful advance in pet care and we have seen many instances where pets have found their families, even after several years apart.
Victorian legislation now requires all pets to be microchipped prior to sale but if you are in a position where you have taken responsibility for a cat or dog and there is no microchip registered we are more than happy to do that for you. Prior to your appointment with us, you will need to apply for a SOURCE NUMBER that will then enable us to correctly register your pet. We CANNOT implant a microchip without a source number and it is best to have that number issued PRIOR to your appointment to ensure a smooth and speedy visit to us.
You can apply for a source number here.
If you are unable to submit your application online you can telephone 136 186/option 0 and request a hard copy of the source number registration form.
We note that source numbers are valid for 12 months ONLY unless renewed.
Finally, source numbers are required for dogs & puppies, cats & kittens ONLY at this stage. Rabbits and other pocket pets do not need this (yet).
We treat you and your pets as family.
