Allergic responses in your pet can be distressing for you both. In a lot of cases these allergic triggers can be environmental, diet- related, parasite- related or just a part of your pet’s DNA.
In some cases, allergies to pet food ingredients can become apparent in the form of itchy skin or gastrointestinal upsets. After discussion with the veterinary team, a new feeding plan may be implemented to help investigate these issues.
A diet elimination trial may come in the form of a hypoallergenic wet or dry food, or in the form of a “novel” protein food roll. A novel protein is a protein which your pet has not been exposed to previously – like crocodile.
